Hung currently serves as an Administrative Patent Judge at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) since 2012.  Before public service, he practiced law and was a partner at Intellectual Property (IP) boutique law firms in Washington D.C. for over twenty years.  Hung is one of the founding members of VietCorps, and was active on the Board of several non-profit organizations, including Asian American LEAD, the Vietnamese American Society, the Center for Nonprofit Development and Pluralism, and The Amerasian Coalition.

Hung is a graduate of the Washington College of Law, American University, and Drexel University, earning a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in International Affairs.
